IEEE SoutheastCon 2007 Hotel Information and Registration

IEEE SoutheastCon 2007 is being held at the Richmond Marriott.

Richmond Marriott Now at or near Capacity for The Conference

Because of the unprecedented interest in IEEE SoutheastCon 2007, the Marriott Hotel is now booked at or near capacity for most nights of the conference.

In addition, the contracted special room rate for attendees of IEEE SoutheastCon 2007 of $107 (USD) (based on single or double occupancy) expired on 01 March 2007.

Rooms, at significantly higher rates (such as rooms on the Richmond Marriott's Concierge Level), may still be available at the Richmond Marriott Hotel through one of the Marriott Hotels' normal reservation systems.

However, if you are still seeking lodging at an more affordable rate, please read our recommendations listed below.

Hundreds of Rooms Available in The Nearby Area

There are other excellent places of lodging within blocks of the Marriott, including some world-class hotels, but they tend to be quite pricey. However, there are hundreds of hotels and motels in the area, including many economical business-class hotels. For instance, there are many new or updated business hotels in the vicinity of Richmond International Airport. By using IEEE Travel Services or one of the many free online hotel search and booking sites, you should be easily able to find a nearby hotel.

Regional Lodging and Sales Taxes

Remember that the quoted rates (including those for the Marriott Hotel, are usually exclusive of applicable sales/room tax, currently thirteen percent (13%).

Parking is available at a covered parking deck adjacent to the hotel (with access via skywalk).

On-site parking fee is $12 (USD) daily.

Valet parking is available at a rate of $15 (USD) daily.

Directions to hotel from Richmond International Airport (RIC):

Hotel Direction: The hotel is located approximately 7 miles west of RIC Airport.

Driving Directions: Take Interstate 64 West to 5th Street Exit (Exit 190). Hotel is three blocks on left.

Estimated fare for taxi or airport van/limousine service: $16 USD (one way).

Directions to hotel from Richmond Main Street Amtrak Station (RVM):

Hotel Direction: The hotel is located approximately 0.8 mile (12 city blocks) northwest of RVM Station.

Directions: Travel East on E. Main Street for approximately 0.5 mile (7 blocks) to 7th Street. Turn right and head North on 7th Street for approximately 0.2 mile (3 blocks) to E. Broad Street. Turn left on E. Broad Street and travel approximately 0.1 mile (2 blocks) to E. Broad and 5th Streets. Hotel is on right.

Directions to hotel from Richmond Staples Mill Road Amtrak Station (RVR):

Some trains which serve the Richmond Staples Mill Road station do not stop in downtown Richmond (RVM Station).

Hotel Direction: The hotel is located approximately 7 miles southeast of RVR Station.

Directions: Travel southeast on Staples Mill Road for approximately 1.6 miles. Bear right into the I-64E entry ramp to Richmond. Travel 5.1 miles. Take the I-64E Exit 75 to Williamsburg/Norfolk. Travel 0.2 mile. Bear right onto the 3rd Street ramp to Coliseum/Downtown. Travel 0.1 mile. Continue to travel south on N. 3rd Street for 0.4 mile. Turn left at E. Broad Street and travel 0.1 mile (2 blocks). Hotel is on left.
