Dominion is one of the nation’s largest producers of energy, with the largest BTU production capability among integrated utilities in the northeast quadrant of the United States. The company has a power generation portfolio of more than 26,300 megawatts and 6,000 miles of electric transmission.

Dominion is also one of the largest independent oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in North America, with 6.3 trillion cubic feet equivalent of proved natural gas reserves. The company has 7,800 miles of interstate natural gas pipeline with more than 650 billion cubic feet of annual natural gas throughput and a delivery capability of 6.3 billion cubic feet per day. In addition, the company operates the nation’s largest underground natural gas storage system, with about 950 billion cubic feet of storage capacity. Dominion also serves retail energy customers in 11 states.

The IEEE Life Member Fund was originally established as the Members-for-Life fund by the AIEE Board of Directors on 24 January 1944. The fund supports the activities of interest to Life Members, potential engineers and engineering students.

The Life Member Fund is supported by the generosity of IEEE members. Since 1998, nearly 70% of the income into the LMF has come from the kindness of IEEE members.

Contributions made to the Life Member Fund support numerous programs that benefit members at all levels of the IEEE. Over $US1M has been distributed from the LMF since 1998 to support the following:

  • 23% - Educational Projects
  • 17% - Awards
  • 13% - Student or Young Engineers
  • 12% - Life Member Benefits
  • 11% - Operational Expenses

The IEEE SoutheastCon 2007 Contributors Program

Gain Direct Access to Customers and Future Prospects in one Event!

The IEEE SoutheastCon 2007 Contributors Program provides you with access to engineers and their firms in your profession. IEEE SoutheastCon is an annual conference hosted by IEEE Region 3 that brings together a total of 300 to 500 professionals and students from all across the United States and the world. The 2007 conference will be held in downtown Richmond, Virginia during March 22 – 25, 2007 at the Richmond Marriott on Broad Street. Contributors’ can reach prospective customers through a variety of vehicles based on their level of participation. A number of ways of obtaining visibility are offered – web site, exhibits, printed program and banners to name a few.

The IEEE conference showcases Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering contributions from Technical, Professional and Student participants. There will be a technical program consisting of technical seminars and workshops; exhibits; College Technical Paper Competition; College Software Competition; College Level Robotics Competition; College Student T-shirt Competition; and an IEEE Region 3 Leadership meeting.

As co-hosts of the conference, the Virginia IEEE Sections are pleased to offer Contributors’ Opportunities. The first recognition items will provide broad, Event Opportunities and then there is a list of very specific, Activity Opportunities. We invite you to review and select the items that will provide value to your organization.

We are looking for Contributors at a variety of levels including in-kind donations. Opportunities start as low as $500 to be a Contributor or you may choose to be a Champion, our main conference Contributor.
